Come See Reggie in Concert

Reggie will be doing a concert at Bridges Community Church in Los Altos Sunday, March 5th, at 7:00pm in the main auditorium. He’ll be sharing new songs and some of his select songs that transcend time. Through his passionate music and stories, he refreshingly encourages others to an active faith, revitalizes joy, inspires transparency, renews hope and draws us to a loving relationship with God. Whether it’s in a concert, teaching music, leading worship or sharing from God’s Word, Reggie puts a focus on the priority of knowing God through Jesus Christ. With a balance of skillful guitar & vocal artistry, human experience and spiritual truth, he lives out the verse from Psalm 33:3, “Sing to the Lord a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy!” Please, come and invite family and friends! See below to download a flier to spread the word.

There Is Room – Free download

Heartfelt Music and I wish you a meaningful Christmas season. When Jesus was born, Mary and Joseph had a hard time finding a place to spend the night. Even today, many find all kinds of excuses to keep Jesus out: business, distractions, stress, anger, sometimes valuing other things more than Jesus. Let’s make room for Jesus in our hearts and homes as we prepare for Christmas and even the new year.

As a gift to you this Christmas, I’d like to share a free download of my song There Is Room. May you enjoy the acoustic groove and be encouraged to make room for Jesus in your everyday life.

As you think about gifts for loved ones, three of my albums are digitally available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, CD Baby: Heartfelt Celebration, Here & Now, and Instrumental Guitar-Volume I. Four other albums, my music book, free songs, and a worship report are available at Gumroad.com. Physical CDs can be purchased through CD Baby. Thank you for your interest in, and support of, my music!

Impacting the Bay Area

Heartfelt Music is continuing to touch lives throughout the Bay Area. We are leading others toward excellence in artistry and intimacy with God. Explained in more detail below, I have been coaching the children’s ministry at River of Life Christian Church (Santa Clara), teaching guitar at the Korean Emmanuel Presbyterian Church (Milpitas), leading worship at Gilroy Presbyterian Church (Gilroy), teaching private music lessons (San Jose, Los Altos, and Mount Hermon), and continuing to coordinate chapels and lead the worship teams at Valley Christian Schools (San Jose). Please, pray we will be able to have a significant impact on many lives, encouraging them in Christ.

Three of my albums are available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, CD Baby, and over 100 other outlets. Four other albums, my music book, free songs, and a worship report are available at Gumroad.com. Physical CDs can be purchased through CD Baby.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support! You make a big difference.

Valley Christian Worship with 2300 Students

Besides teaching Guitar and Music Technology at Valley Christian Schools, I am the Chapel Coordinator and direct the two high school worship teams and junior high worship team. Last week, the school had a spiritual emphasis week with chapels every day. It was a busy week but filled with spiritual nourishment for the 1700 high school students and the 600 junior high students. Last Wednesday was a Worship Chapel the students designed.

Team Training with River of Life Chinese Church

The children’s ministry of River of Life Church is vibrant and well organized. I’m bringing two seniors from Valley Christian High School worship team to help in mentoring the kids. We had such a meaningful time at the first meeting October 2nd. Heartfelt Music is a tremendous resource for ministry development like this.

Interim Worship Dir. with Gilroy Presbyterian Ch.

Gilroy Presbyterian Church is transitioning to fill a full-time Senior Pastoral position and Worship Director position. I will be Interim Worship Director from October through February to help with this transition. They have found a Senior Pastor, Trevor Van Laar, who will be joining them in January. I’ll be leading twice a month and directing their choir once a month. I enjoy working with these precious people who are excited about using their talents in ministry.

June Happenings and Update

Ramping Up

Summer is usually a time of “winding down,” but for me it’s more like “winding up.” After teaching for many years, some may think it’s time for things to be “wrapping up,” yet this Spring and Summer has been and will be more of a “ramping up” for me. I’m so thankful for the real-world education that Full Sail University gave me through the Master of Science degree program. The business plan for Heartfelt Music, developed over the last year, has equipped me to lead, manage, create, support, and motivate through Heartfelt Music like never before. In June, I’ll be trained to be an Avid Certified Instructor in Pro Tools (the leading recording software) and in July, I’ll finish training to be an Avid Certified Instructor in Sibelius (the leading music writing software). This will help Heartfelt Music expand its offerings in recording and writing out music. This will also help Valley Christian High School with their Music Technology class and a developing program to equip young performing artists. Thank you for your prayers! Your enthusiastic encouragement means so much to me.
  .

Enjoy a Few Summer Guitar Lessons

I’ll be teaching guitar lessons throughout the summer in three locations, so you can catch a few if you’d like. In Los Altos, they are on Mondays: June 20 & 27, July 11 & 18, August 1 & 8. In San Jose, they are on Tuesdays: June 21 & 28, July 12 & 19, August 2 & 9. In Mount Hermon, they are on Saturdays: June 11 & 18. Email me if you would like to improve, [email protected].

Pro Tools & Sibelius Instructor Certification

Next week, I’ll go through a five-day training course to become both an Avid Certified Pro Tools User and an Avid Certified Pro Tools Instructor. I’m looking forward to using this DAW with Heartfelt Music and with Valley Christian Schools. Students who take the Music Technology course at VCS next year will have UC Fine Arts credit and be certified as Pro Tools users.

Spring Guitar Recitals in Los Altos

We held our 2016 Spring Guitar Recitals at Bridges Community Church last week. You can watch a two minute YouTube video to see who participated. They all were fantastic! There’s quite a variety of skill levels and age levels in my Los Altos crew. Michael came all the way over from Mount Hermon just to be able to be in it. It’s a joy teaching all of them and watching them improve.

Coming Events

June 5 & 19 (Sun)
Leading worship with San Jose Christian Reformed Church, 5150 Camden Ave, San Jose, CA 95124. The services begin at 10:00am.

June 20-26 (Sun)

God Has Truly Blessed

There are some pretty significant full time involvements that are coming to completion this spring for me. Through it all, I have to say, “God has truly blessed!” I just graduated with a Master’s degree from Full Sail University, which I highlight below. It was a shock to not have major projects due every week. Yet, I have learned so much and feel like I can see the bigger picture of what Heartfelt Music is about. You can read about the entire journey on my Tumblr blog. The Valley Christian High School year is coming to a close next week, also highlighted below. It has been a joy to work with junior high and high school students who want to learn. I’ve been teaching the worship teams and guitar classes. Next year, we’re starting a Guitar 3 class and a Music Technology class. It’s so fun to see the emphasis on guitar continuing to grow here at Valley. Some students even started a guitar club this year. The students who are a part of the Music Technology class will become certified users of Pro Tools and Sibelius. Thank you for your prayers over the last few months. Your interest, concern, and support in prayer means so much to me.

Graduated with a Masters Degree

On May 6th, I graduated from Full Sail University with a Master of Science in Entertainment Business. What an amazing and outstanding experience. My final project was a new Business Plan for Heartfelt Music which will double the impact of what God is doing though us. I’m very excited about what’s to come. Stay tuned for a re-launch of Heartfelt Music in the fall.

VCS Chapel Worship

A few weeks ago, the Valley Christian School worship team led their last chapel with the whole student body of 1600 students. We’ve had an outstanding year and have seen a significant growth toward worshiping God. It’s really hard to imagine school wraps up next week with finals. The Blue Team will lead worship at San Jose Christian Reformed Church this Sunday.

New Album in New VCS Studio

Valley Christian School has built a new recording studio on campus to enhance the Conservatory of the Arts program. Under the engineering of Robert Rubino, I am working on a new album in this new studio. My most recent recording Here & Now includes simple voice and guitar arrangements. This new one will be a full band sound. I’ll let you know more as it progresses.

Empowering People

This weekend, March 3-5, I’m leading worship with Peter Neumann for the BASS Convention at Redwood Chapel in Castro Valley. I’ll be equipping others through teaching workshops throughout the weekend. I’m teaching at Valley Christian School, working on a Masters Degree through Full Sail University, giving private guitar lessons, helping with the Mount Hermon Community, and leading worship every Sunday at various churches. Thank you for your continued prayers and encouragement. Pray that God would empower me to empower others in making significant changes our world, which desperately needs God’s touch.
