Training Day

These workshops are for everyone! This all day Saturday event is especially designed for musicians who desire to be trained in some or all of the following areas: walking intimately with God, leading worship, singing at their best, playing guitar better, and writing songs with impact. Even non-musicians will enjoy enhancing their lifestyle of worship and improving their singing. Each workshop is “learner oriented” with a blend of participation, demonstration and teaching.  The majority of the workshops are hands-on where each person participates with the techniques being demonstrated.  Through Biblical insight and practical experience, Reggie inspires the correlation of dynamic faith in Jesus Christ with creative and expressive musicianship.  Click on the following workshop titles to get details about each one. Multiple Guitars in Worship

This new 90 minute interactive workshop is for electric and acoustic guitarists involved in church worship. Reggie Coates and James Jurado will be giving creative ideas to enhance guitar playing in a church worship setting involving more than one guitar. They will demonstrate an acoustic playing with another acoustic, an electric playing with an acoustic, and an electric playing with another electric. This is a hands on workshop, so bring your guitar! The main thrust will be applying variety and contrast. .

Worship Infusion

This 90 minute interactive workshop is for anyone desiring to worship God in all aspects of their life. Everyone gets involved in discussing three prominent areas of worship:

• The Heart aspect of worship (passion & purpose)
• The Art aspect of worship (process & programming)
• The Hard aspects of worship (people & politics)

There will be an inclusive atmosphere which is inter-denominational, multi-generational, cross-cultural, and focused on the essentials. Each part is participative and not merely “lecture” oriented. This relevant workshop is great for both…

• Worshipers who may not have leadership experience, but want to enhance their lifestyle of worshiping God and their group worship experience; and

This hour and a half empowering workshop for all Christian guitarists (intermediate through advanced) is designed to teach creative and expressive guitar playing in a worship setting, combining the technical and fun aspects of guitar playing with spiritual passion.  This workshop is a blend of participation, demonstration and teaching.  The majority of the workshop is hands-on where each person plays along with the techniques being demonstrated.  Through Biblical insight and practical experience, Reggie inspires the correlation of dynamic faith in Jesus Christ with creative and expressive guitar playing.  Reggie will cover:

Improving Your Singing

This hour and a half motivational workshop for Christian vocalists is designed to enhance skill and faith, combining the technical and fun aspects of singing with spiritual passion.  This workshop is a blend of participation, demonstration and teaching.  The majority of the workshop is hands-on where each person sings along with the techniques being learned and demonstrated.  Through Biblical insight and practical experience, Reggie inspires the correlation of dynamic faith in Jesus Christ with creative and expressive singing. Leading Worship Effectively

This hour and a half insightful workshop is designed to teach how to enhance individual and group singing and worship in the church, motivate a lifestyle of intimate worship, inspire confidence and expression, and build “team” unity with good communication.  The workshop is a blend of participation, demonstration and teaching where theology, philosophy and methodology of leading singing are discussed.  Through Biblical exposition and practical experience, Reggie unveils the essentials which empower your group to be more effective. Creative Songwriting

This hour and a half workshop for Christian songwriters (and those who want to write songs) is designed to teach the foundational principles in the craft of songwriting. Whether for a radio commercial, a ballad of your life story, or a song in a worship setting, you will find practical techniques and useful ideas.  This workshop is a blend of participation, demonstration and teaching.  Through Biblical insight and practical experience, Reggie inspires the correlation of dynamic faith in Jesus Christ with creative and expressive songwriting.  Reggie will cover:

Beginning Bass Guitar

This hour and a half empowering workshop is for Christian bass guitarists who are just picking up the bass guitar or those who have been playing for a short time and would like to get some formal training.  It is designed to teach basic bass technique, creative and expressive playing in a worship setting. Leading Worship Effectively & Team Building

This three hour dynamic workshop for musicians and leaders is designed to develop the skill of the musicians and leaders, enhance the corporate singing of the church, expand understanding of group worship dynamics, motivate a lifestyle of intimate worship, inspire confidence and expression, and build “team” unity with good communication.  The first half of the workshop is a blend of participation, demonstration and teaching where theology, philosophy and methodology of leading singing are discussed.  Through Biblical insight and practical experience, Reggie unveils the essentials which empower your group to be more effective.

The second half of the workshop is a Practicum where music is explored in various styles.  The musicians play together while Reggie leads and makes observations to apply the methods discussed earlier.
